Shipped Worm Starter Kit

Live worms, their first meal, a field guide, and a club to ask. You supply the bin.

This is not a bag of worms in the mail.

A bag of worms in the mail is how a lot of people end up with a sour bin, a bad feeling, and a quiet decision never to bring it up again. The worms were fine. Nobody told them what happens next.

This kit is the worms, plus what happens next.

$89, plus shipping calculated at checkout.

What you get

  • Live red wigglers, in two containers. A living mix of cocoons, wisps, juveniles, and adults, travelling in the bedding they already live in. Two containers on purpose: if one has a rough trip, the other one didn't. (Wisps are the brand-new ones. You'll see.)
  • A bottle of Date Night Blend worm chow, with a measuring scoop inside, so "how much do I feed them" has an actual answer.
  • Shredded cardboard, packed around them for the trip. When they arrive, it goes in your bin as bedding. It's packing material with a second career.
  • First 90 Days With Your Worms, my beginner field guide. PDF, emailed after you order.
  • The Accidental Worm Murderer's Case Files, my free ebook, in the same email.
  • Free Standard membership in The Worm Wrangler Club, my community on Skool.

About that membership

It's not a trial. It's not 30 days, or 90. There's no monthly Standard charge for you, and it stays free for as long as you stay in the group and the group keeps running. If you ever want Premium, that's an upgrade you choose.

After you order, I email your invite to the address you used at checkout.

What's not in the box

No tote. No worm bin. No pre-compost. This is not a pre-built worm habitat. You supply the container, and the book tells you what to look for in one.

Also no tiny cowboy hat. That's Vermi's, and he doesn't share.

Who it's for

Somebody starting a first worm bin who'd like a second opinion that isn't their brother-in-law's.

How it ships

Ships to the lower 48 states. Shipping is calculated at checkout. I ship live worms on Monday and Tuesday only, so nothing spends a weekend in a sorting facility. I hold orders when the forecast at your address is outside roughly 40 to 85 degrees, so sometimes "ordered today" means "ships next week." I'd rather explain a delay than a box.

Both ebooks come by email after you order, before the worms arrive. That gives you time to set up the bin before they show up.

Covered by my Live Arrival Guarantee.

Quick questions

How many worms? I don't state a count. A scoop from a mixed-stage colony contains what it contains, and any number I gave you would be a number somebody could count wrong. What I can tell you is what's in there: cocoons, wisps, juveniles, and adults, alive, in bedding they know.

What do I need ready? A container, some bedding you make from cardboard, and a spot that isn't the garage. The book covers all three.

What's the catch on the free membership? You have to stay. Leave the group and the free seat goes with you.
